Dimitar Dimitrov is an animator and director. He graduated from NATFA "Krastyo Sarafov" in the class of Prof. Donio Donev. His student film "ABC" was selected for the ANNECY 2000 festival.
Between 2000 and 2025, he directed and animated over 20 short animated films, which were selected for more than 550 international animation and short film festivals and won over 70 awards. The film "The Day of the Bloody Crowns" won the Best Animation award at the Hollywood Weekly Film Festival, and "20 Kicks" was selected for ANNECY 2018.
He teaches VFX and 3D animation at ARC Academy. He directs trailers and teasers for the gaming industry at GAMELOFT Bulgaria.
In 2025, BNT broadcasts the six-part animated film "Fish," directed and animated by Dimitar Dimitrov. His film "The Artist's Daughter" was selected by Cineuropa to represent Bulgaria at World Expo 2025 in Japan (Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka) and was named Best Bulgarian Film at WFAF Varna 2024.
